More than 100 new and modernized weapons and military hardware samples were demonstrated by the organization of the military-industrial complex to participants in the operational gathering of the command staff of the Armed Forces
On October 30, 2019, at the airfield of military base 06752 of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces, as part of the operational gathering of the command staff of the Armed Forces, the demonstration of weapons, military and special equipment was held. Roman Golovchenko, Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry, took part in its work.
At the first stage, the participants of the gathering were able to not only familiarize with the samples of equipment and weapons recently received by the troops, but also with the new ones developed by organizations that are part of the system of the State Authority for Military Industry, the defense industry of the Republic of Belarus and will appear in troops and military units in the very near future, and were also informed about the prospects for the development of weapons systems.
As part of the show, 13 organizations of the military-industrial complex presented about 100 new and modernized weapons, military and special equipment: from small arms, ammunition and equipment to fire weapons, as well as the capabilities to create unmanned aerial vehicles, including in a combat version, mobility means, including lightly armored vehicles in various configurations, reconnaissance and electronic warfare equipment, communications and measurements, and other weapons and military equipment.
At the training venues it was demonstrated: the combat vehicle “Polonez-M” from the composition of B-300RK, the self-propelled 9A318K firing mount (from the composition of air defense system “Buk-MB3K” (“Citadel”), the lightly armored vehicle “ASILAK” ARS-10, and the modernized complex 9K57 “Hurricane-M”, the low-altitude radar station “Rosa-RBM”, the 3D radar station of all-round visibility RLS-9S150MB, the mobile radio-frequency direction finding complex R-368MB “Volar”, the portable monitoring and radio-electronic jamming complex of UAVs “Kupol”, and the small-range differential-range detection system for unmanned aerial vehicles and ground control stations “Kirasa-M”, experimental models of pistol “Viking” and carbine/assault rifle VSK-100BP bullpup and other types of weapons, military and special equipment.
Some of the developments presented at the operational training camp are currently undergoing research and state tests, and upon confirmation of the compliance of their characteristics with the requirements presented, in the near future they can be adopted by the Armed Forces.
Armaments and military equipment supplied to the troops should provide the units of the Armed Forces with security, high mobility, controllability, ability to conduct reconnaissance and deliver accurate fire strikes over long distances.
The priority is given to the development of command and control, air defense, reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and special operations forces means.
The most important task solved by the State Authority for Military Industry is the implementation of state policy in the field of development and maintenance of military hardware, and the effectiveness of interaction with the military department is determined by the degree of fulfillment of the state defense order, which is based on the state arms program.
At present, the task of creating armaments and military equipment in demand of the Armed Forces is being solved by the State Authority for Military Industry in the framework of the implementation of complex system projects, such as combat geoinformation systems, combat aircraft systems and robotics, fire destruction systems, means of mobility of weapons systems, integrated counteraction systems precision weapons (including electronic intelligence and electronic warfare).
Within the framework of these projects, ten directions of the development of weapons systems were identified, three of which are strategic (priority):
fire weapons (operational-tactical missile systems and multiple launch rocket systems);
the development of lightly armored combat vehicles of various classes and purposes, created on the basis of single chassis integrated with individual and group combat systems of military personnel;
robotic and unmanned vehicles integrated into a network of combat and support platforms.
These complex systemic projects and directions are defined in the Development Program of the State Authority for Military Industry and the defense industry until 2020.
The activities of the State Authority for Military Industry as a state customer for the most important developments of systems and complexes of weapons and military equipment are associated with certain results.
According to the results of the operational gathering of the command staff of the Armed Forces and the collegium of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Andrei Ravkov, Minister of Defense, said that about 520 models of weapons and equipment have been delivered to the troops since the beginning of the year.
Annually, about 10 new types of weapons and military equipment are supplied to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. This is a fairly high rate of rearmament, even by world standards. The key difference between modern developments of weapons and military equipment is the short deadlines for their creation and implementation in production.
The application in the Armed Forces of a particular model or a weapon system is the indicator of innovation and the level of development of science and technology of an individual organization or holding as a whole.
